Beginners Workshop

We are excited about our Beginner’s Workshop on August 20! Our members, Kimberly Holder and Kathy Bowden will share tips for new homeschoolers that evening. We will talk about state requirements, planning, learning styles, and choosing curriculum. If you are considering homeschooling or have made the decision to homeschool and are totally overwhelmed, come on August 20.  There will be tables that will display curriculum from seasoned homeschoolers.  We look forward to seeing you there on Tuesday, August 20!

When: Tuesday, August 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. 

Why: To Encourage new-to-homeschooling parents as they begin their journey.

Back to School Picnic

It’s already August and soon AHSL will begin another school year. To celebrate the new year, join us at the annual Back-to-School Picnic at Fun Junktion. There is a covered pavilion, large playground, and water-play area for kids. This event is open to non-members interested in homeschooling or to those who want more information about our group.

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Where: Fun Junktion, 

983 Simpson Ditch Road, Elizabeth City 

Members please bring: a side dish or dessert AND a beverage to share. 

Entrée will be provided by AHSL.
