Join us for our
“Homeschooling in Unique Situations”
Support Meeting!

Are you a veteran homeschooler? Are you new to homeschooling? This meeting will be informative and fun. Several of our AHSL moms will be sharing their stories with us on topics such as: teaching children with medical issues, teaching children with special needs, teaching children with learning issues, and teaching multiple children in multiple grades. These short presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Join us and see if you can find answers for your homeschool. You may even want to consider sharing what has worked in your family in your unique situation. Come join us for an evening of inspiration, shared stories, and maybe even a few good laughs. We know you spend a LOT of time with your lovely children, but this is a great opportunity to interact with other like-minded adults. We look forward to seeing you there!

A few notes to remember:
This meeting is open to the public, so you are encouraged to bring friends. Children need to either be with you or in the child-care room. If you plan to leave your children with the child-care crew, please consider leaving a donation. (We suggest $1.00 per child.)

Happy Spring everyone! It is THAT time of the year in which we homeschoolers start thinking about what we will be doing for school next school year. You know what that means. We are all in a focused, intense search for the “perfect” curriculum. Our topic will be “Curriculum” and our featured guests are our AHSL members. Please plan to come to our Curriculum Show and Tell Meeting on March 9 at 6:00 p.m. for some fun, lots of information, and the sharing of your favorite curriculum.

How will this work? We encourage you to bring your favorite curriculum that you used this year and plan to share briefly with the group why you liked it (or didn’t like it) for your family. What made you choose it? Did it work for all your children? (Why or why not?) Will you use it again? (Why or why not?) What do you wish was different about it? Did you use it as written? Is there anything else you would like to tell us about the curriculum?

If you are new to homeschooling, this is a great meeting to attend.  You will learn all about different curricula and which one may fit your child best.  Hear it straight from those that have used it.

A few notes to remember: This meeting is open to the public.  Children need to be with you or in the child-care room. If you do plan to leave your children with the child-care crew, please consider leaving a donation in the box. (We suggest $1 per child.)

Come one, come all! Our February support meeting is on February 9, and it is all about TESTING! We will discuss the many options we have for annual testing (which is required by the state of North Carolina), how to acquire the necessary tests, and try to ease your unease about testing.

Please come if you have questions about the test, and we will try to help you. Please come if you are a veteran of testing to help answer questions. Please come if you just want some adult interaction. This is always an informative – and fun – meeting.
A few notes to remember: This meeting is open to the public. If you are interested in learning about homeschooling, please join us! Children need to be with you or in the child-care room. If you do plan to leave your children with the child-care crew, please consider leaving a donation in the box. (We suggest $1 per child.)
